Tuesday is the official TPL League Night. League play takes place from 6–9 PM, and assigned times rotate throughout the season so the same teams are not always given the earliest or latest slot. Teams should make every reasonable effort to play during their assigned Tuesday time.

Each team receives two Flex Rounds during the eight-week season. A Flex Round may be used when the team cannot play during its assigned Tuesday time. The team should notify The Perfect Lie before its scheduled match whenever possible. The opposing team is not required to reschedule and may complete its round on Tuesday as planned. The team using the Flex Round must complete the same league round later that week, no later than Sunday at closing, unless an exception is approved. Flex Rounds cost $30 per player.

All official TPL League rounds must be completed at The Perfect Lie Golf Bar. This includes Tuesday matches, Flex Rounds, makeup rounds and championship rounds. Scores recorded at another facility, on a home simulator or outside the official TPL League setup will not count toward league standings.

Flex Rounds must use the same FSX Play course, tees, pin locations, weather, wind, firmness, green speed, putting settings and other league conditions as the originally scheduled match. The round must be completed in one session with no restarts because of poor play, and both registered team members must participate.

Weeks 1 and 2 are played without handicaps. Beginning in Week 3, each team’s provisional nine-hole handicap is calculated as 80% of the team’s better score relative to par from the first two rounds. The result is rounded to the nearest whole stroke and capped at six strokes. Using the better of the first two rounds reduces the benefit of intentionally posting a poor score.

After Week 3, the handicap is recalculated using the best two of the team’s three most recent completed rounds. A handicap may increase by no more than one stroke from one week to the next, but it may decrease immediately when performance indicates a lower handicap is appropriate. The league administrator may adjust a handicap that does not reasonably reflect demonstrated ability.

Handicap strokes are applied according to the course’s hole handicap or stroke index. In a head-to-head match, the lower-handicap team plays from zero and the higher-handicap team receives the difference between the two team handicaps on the hardest-ranked holes.

The one-time registration fee is $50 per team. A regularly scheduled Tuesday league round costs $25 per player. When a team uses one of its two Flex Rounds, the fee is $30 per player. Drinks and food are purchased separately.

After a team has used both Flex Rounds, both registered players must play during the assigned Tuesday time or the team will receive a forfeit unless the league administrator approves an exception.

All rounds are played in FSX Play. Scores are recorded in the TPL League tracker, which updates weekly results, handicaps, standings and playoff positions. When teams complete a match on separate days, the same course and settings are used and the scorecards are compared after both rounds are complete.

Once a weekly league course and setup have been announced, teams may not play a practice round on that exact league setup before completing their official scored round. General practice and play on other courses remain allowed.

Based on a full eight-team field, first place receives $400 cash, second place receives $150 in Perfect Lie gift cards, and third place receives $50 in Perfect Lie gift cards. Second-place gift cards will be issued as $75 per player, and third-place gift cards will be issued as $25 per player. Prize amounts may be adjusted if the league does not fill.

The league administrator may make reasonable rulings involving handicaps, technical issues, unusual scheduling conflicts, incomplete rounds or conduct in order to protect the fairness and operation of the league.
